The Strictly Censored Tour 2009 was a joint tour by pop singers Elice Claire and China to promote their albums. The tour consists of two opening acts. The opening act for Elice Claire's set is pop singer Helena Rossi, and the opening act for China's set is newcomers The Infinite
It first started of as a whisper, that Elice and China would be touring together. But nobody was sure and no-one was doing a confirmer to let fans know. However we finally found out that on July 2009 we'll see Elice and China hitting the road for their combined tour named; The Strictly Censored Tour. The support acts include no other than BFF Helena Rossi and The Infinite. But don't be fooled we're sure that they'll be a huge array of special guests. Tickets go on sale 9am Friday 7th April with the first date being 6th July 2009. ARE YOU GONNA BE THERE?
Elice Claire and China had been talking for a long time about a double tour. The news about both of them touring together was announced on April 14th by BBC News. Elice described the tour as a best friend experience, as this was her first headlining tour with China who has been her friend for a long time. China who embarked in her first headlining tour on 2008 to promote her debut album, already had plans to go tour this year, and with Elice this tour would sure be fire burning.
On May 2009, China posted a blog saying that she had bought a flat in London and that Elice would be moving in with her so they could spend more time together. Both girls used their time together to rehearse for their tour.
Elice's tour setlist was announced by her management on May 10th, 2009, but since then a few changes have been made. When the 2009 Uraps Awards performers were announced, Elice said that the fans were going to be able to get a little look of what the tour would look like in her performance.
On 23 May 2009, Both Elice and China's rep announced new dates that had been added to the tour due to high demand and sold out arenas.
On 14 June 2009, 1,000 lucky fans were able to catch The Strictly Censored Tour on it's entirely. Helena Rossi and The Infinite were also present doing their setlist.
Opening act Helena Rossi takes the stage singing a 4 song set from her debut album "Queenbee".
The show begins with a "Keepin' U Up (Egyptian Enigma remix)" playing in the background as the stage lights goes on and off. All the lights suddenly turns off and only small lighting on the side of the stage is on. A single spotlight is put on wall, the wall rotates and Elice appears on stage, she does the catwalk wearing a mac. Once she reaches the end of the catwalk she removes the mac and behind it is a golden sparkly dress, she sings the first 3 songs of Act 1 and leaves the stage. Elice returns to the stage wearing a pink dress, she talks to the fans and then sings the first 2 songs of Act 2. Elice then walks over to the center of the stage and stands next to a pole, two men next to her do some choreography with two large fathers as she sings the Delta Goodrem Medley. The lights goes dim as EC exits the stage. Before Act 3 begins, some old country song instrumental starts playing, the lights flash on and you can see four male choreographer dressed as cowboys dancing on stage, Elice enters the stage looking like a cowgirl wearing jeans and a tiny leather jacket. She performs "Think Twice, Think Thrice" and exits the stage. An extended instrumental of "Pick Up A Fight" starts playing, Helena re-enters the stage with Elice as they sing the song. Elice is wearing a cat suit and she performs the other two songs from Act 4, as she finishes the song "Liar" she talks to the audience and exits the stage. All the lights on stage goes dim and sparks fall from the ceiling, Elice enters the stage wearing a white dress. She sings the song "Never Let Go" and a mash-up of "For One More Day/Mending Hearts". She talks to the audience for a little bit and then goes to a piano and sings the song "Taking The High Road". As she finishes the last song from Act 5 she takes her bow and thank all the fans for coming to the tour, she introduces China and leaves the stage. About 10 minutes after Elice exited the stage, only a single spotlight is seen on the stage. A suspense instrumental plays as the stage gets foggy. The spotlight moves up into the air and Elice Claire is seen coming down; As she reaches the ground all the lights goes off for a minute and turns on again with Elice now wearing a black tight mini-dress. She performs "Keepin' U Up" with a choreography and "Someone Else" in a house scenario (showing two couples fighting in bedroom and kitchen). Before she leaves she takes her bow with all the choreographers and her band, confetti falls from the ceiling as they exits the stage with ‘Keepin‘ U Up‘ extended instrumental playing in the background.
