"Guns and Bullets" is a song by Swedish pop trio Suede. Written by the members of Suede and produced by Shawn Middlesbrough, the song was released as the fourth overall single from the trio's debut album Today Is Our Day on April 16, 2012 in the UK, where it was the second and final single lifted from the album. A Swedish version of the single, "Vapen och kulor", was released in Sweden and Norway that same day.

Despite having somewhat lackluster and "mediocre" promotion, "Guns and Bullets" performed well commercially in the UK, where it debuted and peaked at #6, becoming their second UK single to do so after "See The Light". The Swedish version of the song, "Vapen och kulor", debuted at #20 in Sweden.

A music video was planned and made but, due to the abrupt end of promotion for the single, was shelved and is temporarily postponed until "further notice" from the trio themselves and their management. "Guns and Bullets" will not be released in the United States and Canada, as the trio is focusing on promoting "Pass Me By" due to its success in those countries.

Background[edit | edit source]

The song was announced as a single in March 2012 after many weeks of speculation and premiered on March 19, 2012. The group admitted that the song was slightly and "not that noticeably" remixed for its single and radio edit. Cover art and tracklistings for the CD and digital formats of the single were revealed on April 2, 2012.

The group plans to re-release the single regardless if it is or is not commercially successful. Their reasons for the already confirmed re-release of the single is because they felt they did not promote the single correctly and they want to promote it "like it should be promoted...which is the right way."

Promotion[edit | edit source]

Promotion for the single initially started off well but eventually trailed off due to unspecified personal problems involving all of the members of Suede. Promotion then came to an abrupt end, in which a family matter concerning all of the members was stated as the main reason.

Due to lack of promotion, the group plans to re-release the single in a remixed form. They also plan to release the music video sometime later.

Reception[edit | edit source]

The single managed to positive reviews who complimented the production of the song and the vocals from the group themselves. The lyrics also received mixed to positive reviews.

Music video[edit | edit source]

A music video was shot for the single but has been shelved due to the lackluster - and later abrupt end - of the promotion.
