"No Way Out" is the debut single by British boyband Difused. The song written by band members Danny Stephingham, Kris Rios and Jamie Elite and serves as the lead single from the band's debut studio album, which is yet to be announced. The song was released on 9 January 2012, having received its first airplay on 7 December 2011 on BBC Radio 1. It charted at #2 with first week sales of 98,791.

Background[edit | edit source]

Difused were first introduced on 18 November 2011 and recieved a large amount of media attention due to Danny being the younger brother of Ruby and the Gems and Jamie being the younger brother of Candi and Chase Elite. On 4 December 2011, it was announced the single would be titled "No Way Out", with a rumoured release date of 30 January, 2012. PopJustice previewed a 30 second clip of the song on 6 December. The group also recieved a strong media following during promoting due to the death of Jamie Elite's elder brother, Carter Elite on 01 December, 2011. The group's management denied Jamie time off to grieve, leading to the band changing management a week later.

Release and reception[edit | edit source]

The song premiered on 7th December 2011, on Radio 1. The song recieved a positive review from critics, complimenting it's "suprising" sound, being more indie and "'deserving of more critical aclaim' than would be expected". The group performed the track on Candi's Christmas Gift, being watched by 9 million viewers.

Music video[edit | edit source]

An image from the video was published on 8 December 2011 and the following day a 30 second trailer was released. The full video officially premiered on 18 December 2011.

The video is in reverse, at the start of the video we see the boys travelling to or from somewhere, when they infact are getting away. As the video progresses, we see the boys meet with their female friends/love interests who they become close with. If you look at the video backwards, you see they meet then fall out, and get away - but is mirrored the other way.
