Pandora (born 29 August 1986) is an English singer-songwriter who won the first series of The The Uraps Factor in 2012. She received a £1 million recording contract by winning, and her winner's single "On A Mission" charted at #4.
Career[edit | edit source]
The Uraps Factor (2012)[edit | edit source]
Pandora auditioned for the Uraps Factor in late 2011/early 2012. She was first shown when she reached the final 6 girls at the Judges houses, where she sang infront of her mentor Candi and Candi's fiance Callum Andrews, a member of Dante. Her performance of "Bang Bang" impressed them both, and they picked her as one of the top three to progress to the live finals. Once in the live finals, Pandora competed as one of Candi's four girls and sixteen overall contestants. In Week 1 she sang "Breaking Down The Girl" and survived the double elimination. Week 2 saw a performance of "Ain't Nobody/Go" which fused the two songs. On Week 3 Pandora sang "Kings and Queens" and Week 4 her song choice was "Son Of A Preacher Man". Pandora sang "The Writer" on Week 5 and progressed into the final ten. For Week 6, each act had to sing one of their mentor's songs, and Pandora chose "Android's Heartbeat" from Candi's debut album "First Signs Of Sunlight", which recieved strong compliments and saw her once again progress to the next week. For Week 7, contestants had to sing in pairs, and Pandora performed "Heaven" with Sasha Snow and "Dancing On My Own" with Aimee Stevens (ironically the two contestants who came second and third behind Pandora). On Week 8, as part of the final seven, Pandora sang "Hometown Glory" which was considered her strongest performance to date. Week 9 saw six contestants become four as another double elimination took place, however Pandora's versions of "Heavy Cross" and "Back To Black" gained her enough votes to progress. Now in Week 10, Pandora was in the final four, which was ironically all of Candi's four girls in her category. Pandora performed "Nothing's Real But Love" which Candi picked, and "We Are Young", which she chose. For the live grand final on Week 11, Pandora was up against Sasha Snow and Aimee Stevens. Pandora first sang "Hometown Glory" once again considering it her best performance to date. She then performed a duet with Arianna DiCorso of her track "I Bite". She and Aimee Stevens then progressed to the Sunday Night, where the pair both performed the winner's single. It was revealed that Pandora had then recieved the most votes and become the first ever winner of The Uraps Factor.
Debut era (2012 - present)[edit | edit source]
After her win on The Uraps Factor, Pandora was giving the winner's single "On A Mission" to release, which was written by judge Stacy Hart. It was released on 30 July, 2012 and charted at #4.
