"Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" is a single by pianist and singer Arianna DiCorso, released as the fifth and final single from Arianna's debut album "Take A Picture, It'll Last Longer". It was released as a double A-side with "Cold Summer" which is the lead single from Arianna's "'Snapshot' EP". The single was released on October 15th, 2012, and has yet to chart.

Background[edit | edit source]

Arianna wrote "Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" in 2011 for her debut album "Take A Picture, It'll Last Longer", where it missed the cut for the main album, but it was instead included on the deluxe edition. The song was released as a countdown single in the lead-up to the album, where it became a fan-favourite. Arianna planned to release the song as the fourth single from the album, but with the preparation of her American debut, plans were cancelled in favour of ending the era in the UK with "Until The End Of Time". The song was included on the main tracklisting of the American version of Arianna's debut album. Since the US version featured all-new tracks, Arianna decided to bundle the new tracks onto a separate EP for UK release. Since the EP was an extension of the album, Arianna re-visited "Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" as a single when she prepared "Cold Summer" as the EP's lead single, packaging the two songs together as a double A-side release. After attempts to remix "Cold Summer" failed, "Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" was instead remixed to become Arianna's second club single, following the #1 success of "I Bite" and its remixes.

Reception[edit | edit source]

"Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" got rave reviews from critics and from fans when it was premiered as the third countdown single from "Take A Picture, It'll Last Longer". The song became a major favourite among fans for its gutsy and blunt lyrics. It was the most popular of the three countdown singles. When the song was finally released as a single it hit a new height on the digital charts, climbing into the upper reaches of the iTunes chart prior to its physical release. It has yet to debut on the airplay chart, but is on the verge of hitting the top 40. The remix package has been promoted to dance clubs in America and the song is due to impact the Billboard dance charts soon.

Music Video[edit | edit source]

The video opens to a red-lit space with metal walls. The music for "Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" is playing as we see a man’s legs, and Arianna kneeling on the floor, seen between his legs. Arianna is parodying the titular character as she gives smouldering looks to the guy in front of her, who is busy showing off his shirtless and grease-stained body. When the chorus hits, Arianna lunges at the guy, knocking him on his back. She sings the chorus while ‘riding’ him, and he is thrusting up at her as he holds onto her. Arianna pointedly does not let him touch her breasts. The scene changes; the setting looks similar to before, but this time it’s in a deep blue light. Arianna is surrounded by shirtless men all desperate for her attention; this represents all the guys that ‘Little Miss Knock-Her-Up’ has been having her fun with. She goes through one guy at a time, flirting and teasing them as she sings, and in return they treat her like a queen, lifting her up onto their collective shoulders. While up here she does a number of ‘sexy’ poses including one where she has her back to the camera, doing the splits with her legs carried by the guys, with one guy’s face right in her crotch area; her head is turned toward the camera giving a naughty expression to the camera.

The lighting goes red as we’re back to the other space. This time there is an orgy going on as Arianna slowly struts through, and there are women in the crowd now. As she walks, all heads turn to focus on her. The lights switch blue again, but a red backlight is still seen as the women all move into formation around Arianna, and they perform a routine with the men all pawing at them. Eventually, all the focus turns to Arianna, as she gets swept up in a frenzy of sexual heat with both genders trying to get a piece of her, and she just takes it all in. Just as the sexual frenzy is about to reach its peak, the music drops out for a brief moment. We cut to a new scene, which has a much wider space. The dancers are scattered all over the floor as Arianna walks through the middle of them to get to the front. The dancers all get up into formation behind Arianna and they perform a choreographed routine over the final chorus. Arianna is still giving the camera slutty/seductive looks as she does so, and at one point even drops out of the routine to crawl on her hands and knees. The front lights drop out, leaving the whole setting in silhouette as the video ends.

Chart Performance[edit | edit source]

"Little Miss Knock-Her-Up" has become Arianna's fifth top 3 digital hit in the UK, prior to its official release as a single. It has yet to impact the airplay chart or the sales chart. It will not be released as a full single in the US, but has been released as a club single with a slew of remixes.
