Music video[edit | edit source]
Details emerged on the "Lady Danger" video on November 12 as an exclusive with People's Glitterati. The exclusive confirmed that the music video would be titled Show Me Your Heart, a romantic horror short-film that would be directed, produced and written by Victoria Rios (MIDNIGHT).
Talking about the pre-production stage of the video, MIDNIGHT stated: "When writing the treatment and script, it just seemed to expand and fold out into this dramatic love story, I despise videos that are long for the sake of it, but this was definitely done purely because the ideas were there." MIDNIGHT then expanded on the main meaning of the video and what to expect from it before its premiere date, "It'll be the biggest music video I've done to date. I'm too excited to share it with the world, it really boldly expresses how wild love can get in such a short space of time, and what a paranoid woman can do when her feelings are so extreme." Adding, "It's definitely brutal and fits perfectly with the song, a woman you really wouldn't want to cross, and of course I'll be playing her, the 'lady danger' character."
Script previews of the video were revealed to the public throughout the weeks before the video premiere.
During the exclusive, it was also announced that there would be two versions of the video due to the explicit content of the uncensored version. The uncensored version will be available from MIDNIGHT's official website, as well as on VEVO, but only once the viewer has agreed to the content warnings and verified their age. The censored version will be of shorter length and cut out explicit content in order to be played on music video channels, something MIDNIGHT was not happy with as she once spoke out about the same issue in previous music videos.
The first script preview was revealed on November 18, 2011, which showed a paranoid Violet (played by MIDNIGHT) confronting her boyfriend (Tony) with a cleaver, after finding him with a woman (that was in fact his sister). Violet ends up stabbing her boyfriend, then urges him to grab the handle and push it into him deeper, as he does so, killing himself. She whispers "I love you" to him and goes upstairs to a vanity mirror, where she wipes away a tear, before making her way back downstairs and wrapping her arms around Tony, lying on the floor, next to him.
The second preview was set before the first, as Violet awakes in Tony's bed after meeting for the first time. She openly claims that she loves him after a single night, then after being questioned about it by Tony, says that she doesn't trust her own emotions after having a bad past with guys. After being asked if her emotions felt right, Violet kisses Tony and asks the same question back, "Did that feel right?", to which he responds with "It did" as he kisses her back.
The full video premiered on December 3rd, 2011 to extremely positive reviews, and was viewed over 2.8 million times in its first day, becoming one of the fastest viewed videos in VEVO's history. The full video can be viewed here[1].
The Show Me Your Heart DVD was released December 19th, featuring exclusive song "In the Realms of Love".
