The members of Dante met through an open audition for another boyband. After getting through to the latter stages, but failing to make the final band, the band members decided to come together to make their own boyband. The group initially performed in small bars and clubs around the United Kingdom and frequently performed in local gay bars. After being spotted by talent scouts, the band signed up to Independent label Rejectum Records before it went bust. After it went bust, the band decided to look for a new record label.

After searching for a record deal and recieving offers from other labels such as Blacklight Records and Saturdays Records, the group and their management decided to join Strawberry Records in March 2011. However, after a couple of weeks of joy, cracks began to appear. Band member Jake Cohen was having a sexual relationship with Strawberry Records owner Anna Jones. Even though Cohen had seen the relationship as sexual, manager Jones had not. After many tabloid reports, the band were dropped by Strawberry Records. They were immediatley signed up by rival record label Blacklight Records.
Dante released their debut single End of the World on 11th April 2011. The single is a production by Toby Gad and was written by Dante and Gad. The song has drawn many positive reviews. The boys then decided to release Inhibition as the second track from their debut album. The track sampled Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSound. The track was released early for Download with it debuting at Number 17. The track has since rose up to Number 1 on the Download chart. The track itself debuted on the UK Singles chart at Number 1 selling over 100,000 copies in its first week alone.
In July 2011, the band also released their debut album Casanova Supernova. The album features tracks written by artists such as Just Ginger and Alesha. The album featured more of a R'n'B/Pop sound with many critics praising the mix of this sound with the darker lyrics on the album. The album is still waiting to find out its chart position.
The band also featured in the song and video for Leighann Martin's track Winning. The track debuted at Number 13, therefore making it the only track with the boy's name attached to it charting outside the Top 10.
Band member Harry Hindley also featured on Flaming SteffY's album The Lioness on a track called Discovery Channel, which was a download only track and debuted at Number 1 on the UK Download chart.
The band have also scored a further two number one singles with Inhibition & Like A Symphony.
