City Lights
This is about the Esmeralda Dimuzio single. For the Coral Harris song, please see City Lights (Coral Harris song).
City Lights was the first single taken from Esmeralda Dimuzio's second album, Growth Hormone. It was a departure from her debut album's sound, going in a more electronic dance direction. The gamble paid off; despite competition from Innocent, Justin Case, Sophie Ramone and Nadia Walker, it managed to enter the charts at #3, and eventually finished with a gold certification.
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
The city lights are glowing In the heat of the night Can't see a star in the sky Crowded out by the light
Hustling, bustling sidewalks Police prowling the streets Hear the music from the jukebox Thumpin', pumpin' beats
The city lights are blinding Looking up into space Someone's out there, they're finding These city lights in this place
Nobody's sleeping at this hour In this busy neighbourhood The party's up on that tower That shines like city lights would
The city lights are guiding Easy to follow in your car See them, you won't be hiding And you'll want to go to the bar
See lights, take you to the city Like the light of the Northern Star Glowing all so pretty Even if you feel you're so far
The city lights are glowing In the heat of the night The sun rises up in the morning And the sky fills with its light
