"102 Degrees" was the second single from American singer Elice Claire. This is the official second single in United States only from Elice Claire's debut album Strictly Confidential. It was to be released in July 21st. The song had it's world premiere on the tv show Box Breakers on June 15, 2008. The song was sent to UK radios on June 18. The physical release was cancelled a few weeks before it's official release date.

Song information[edit | edit source]

As the title suggests, the song has all the meanings of summer. According to Elice, she recorded the songs already planning a summer release for it. On an interview with Kiss FM Los Angeles, Claire said that she wrote the song while she was in Venice Beach in Los Angeles on spring break with her family. She said that all she could see when she was hanging with her siblings were glamorous people of all kinds. Upon release, the song managed to get positive reviews and feedback from Uraps acts.

Chart performance[edit | edit source]

"102 Degrees" became a major airplay hit in the UK, where it peaked at #6 without any promotion or physical release. In United States the song did fairly well. Elice did some major promotion, but due to low airplay the song only manage to peak in the 40's.

The music video was shot in Venice Beach, California from May 21st to June 1st. Some pictures from the video shoot leaked online. According to Elice the video will be pure glam, and something totally different from her previous hit "Broken Bridges". According to some people who witness the video shoot, said that Elice was showing some nice cleavage.
The music video was premiered in American television August 4th. The video was placed in heavy rotation on Vh1 and Fuse. Elice made an appearance on MTV TRL on August 28th to show a premiere of the video. The video shows Elice driving a BMW to the beach, when she arrive there she meets up with her girl friends. They play at the beach and flirt with some guys. As the night approaches you can see the girls getting ready to hit the club. In the end of the videos you see Elice and her friends leaving the club late at night drunk cussing.
After the single was cancelled in the UK. Elice decided not to release the video in the Queen's Land any longer. However on November 23rd, 2008. Elice Claire's official website announced that the video will be released on The Box for one day only. The video will also be added to her UK YouTube account for online stream.
